Xiaoyang Nick Hu

I am a research assistant at the Oh Lab at Brown University. I was once an undergrad at the University of Michigan. My B.S. is in math, computer science, and cognitive science. I am indebted to incredible mentors, both past and present: Hwamee Oh, Richard L. Lewis, Joyce Chai, Melanie Weber, Shane Storks, etc.

Research

I am fascinated by both natural and artificial intelligence—their shared principles and points of divergence. My research is driven by questions about 1) the representation of abstract concepts, 2) the mechanisms underlying controlled processing, and 3) their interplay.
